February 2, 2010 Board Meeting Agenda Item #15 Title APPROVAL OF THE SARASOTA ADULT VOCATIONAL EDUCATION (SAVE) GRANT PROPOSAL TO THE SUNCOAST WORKFORCE BOARD FOR THE SARASOTA COUNTY TECHNICAL INSTITUTE Description COMPETITIVE: Grant funds of $225,000 will be used for assessment, comprehensive guidance and counseling, alternative secondary school services, academic remediation for GED attainment, tutoring, and occupational skills training for at-risk, out-of-school, economically disadvantaged youth ages 18 through 21.  Recommendation That the School Board of Sarasota County approve the Sarasota Adult Vocational Education (SAVE) grant proposal.
